KÜS-backed Marijan Griebel won the ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rally for the third time in a row this year, following 2022 and 2021. It was a home game for the two-time German Rally Championship (DRM) champion from Hahnweiler (Palatinate) in the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

Marijan Griebel had made it clear in advance how aware he was of the demanding challenge: "The time has come, the home game on my doorstep is on the agenda this weekend! We're well prepared, we're really looking forward to it and we want to take our third victory in a row at the ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rally, knowing full well that this will be anything but easy," he wrote on his official Facebook page before the start of the rally. At the event, he was sure to have the fingers of his fans crossed. Numerous of them accompanied the performance of the Griebel/Braun duo live on the side of the track.

The hat-trick at the ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rally was preceded by victory at the ADAC Rally Mittelrhein. Here, he had won in June 2023, also with co-driver Tobias Braun. "Physically exhausting day at 30 degrees outside temperature, but the best special stages that Germany has to offer were a feast," was the winner's summary on his Facebook page.

The victory was celebrated in a lively atmosphere.

There he was also modest as usual after his victory in St. Wendel: "A perfect weekend for us from the first to the last minute. A thousand thanks to my team Pole Promotion for the perfect support, to all my loyal partners and supporters, Tobi for the top job and also to you, dear fans. It was great to make the home hat-trick perfect in front of such a crowd!"

Marijan Griebel, born in 1989, a police superintendent by profession, is one of the most successful and well-known rally drivers from Germany as a two-time Junior European Champion (2016, 2017) and two-time German Rally Champion (2018, 2021).
