DMSB Licensing courses

to obtain your DMSB licence (National A)

We are a DMSB authorised provider of licence courses

After completing your course, you can "officially" apply for your licence at the DMSB.

Our licence courses take place on real race tracks

In this way, you learn the practical part of the licence course under real conditions.

Our Active Coaching is included in our licence courses

Our instructors will give you practical tips on the ideal line and riding technique.
You want to get into motorsport and need the basics to get your racing licence? In our licence courses, we teach you the necessary theoretical knowledge about driving rules, flag signals and much more. All courses take place during our track days, where you can put what you have learned directly into practice. During the included active coaching, you will also receive helpful tips from our instructors.

Our licence courses entitle you to obtain a driver's licence for the National A level of motor sport according to FIA / DMSB. Before you register for the licence course, you should consider a few things. We have collected the most important information for you here.

Before booking the licensing course

Choosing the right vehicle

Active Coaching is included in our licence courses. Your instructor may ride with you, which is why your vehicle must have a passenger seat. Open vehicles and formula cars are therefore not suitable.

If your vehicle has a roll cage, it must be padded on the passenger side for safety reasons.

Provide proof of driving experience

A requirement of the DMSB is to ensure that you may only participate in the licence course if you already have driving experience in a motor vehicle.

When registering for the licence course, you must therefore prove that you have already taken part in a one-day car driving training course. This proof can be, for example, a certificate that you receive after successful participation in our Active Coaching.

You have not yet attended a Pistenclub trackday incl. Active Coaching?

After booking the licensing course

The DMSB offers e-learning via the DMSB Academy, which you can use to prepare for the licence course. After successful participation, you will receive a licence course certificate that is valid for nine months, i.e. you must complete a licence course and apply for your licence within the next nine months.

The DMSB e-learning is not a prerequisite for participation in our licence courses. However, you can shorten the theoretical part of the licence course if you have completed the e-learning. Please contact the DMSB directly to participate in the e-learning.

After you have passed the licence course

  1. Register on the DMSB website to access the relevant forms and content.
  2. Print out the relevant licence application form, which you can download from the DMSB website.
  3. Visit your family doctor in Germany for a general medical examination. Your doctor will enter the results of the examination directly into the licence application form.
  4. Submit the completed licence application form together with a passport photo and proof of having passed the licence course to the DMSB to apply for your licence.
There are costs for issuing your licence. In order to be able to use the licence in the future, a calendar yearly renewal is required. All licence fees are independent of our courses and must be paid directly to the DMSB.
