KÜS

Strong co-operation with Manthey

28 June 2024 | Partner News

KÜS has further expanded its partnership with Manthey. In the 2024 motorsport season, it will sponsor the "Grello", in which Thomas Preining won the DTM championship title in 2023. This means new attractive options in the collaboration with an important technology partner.

The close cooperation with Manthey enables KÜS to benefit from various advanced technologies and innovative solutions. This consolidates their expertise and at the same time ensures the quality and reliability of the tests and assessments.

The sponsorship of the "Grello" by KÜS contributes greatly to further increasing the visibility of the entire organisation and its partners. Thanks to the popularity of "Grello" and its presence in the DTM, KÜS can present its entire service portfolio and expertise to an even wider audience. This makes it attractive to new customers - together with its nationwide partners. Overall, the extended partnership with Manthey further consolidates its standing in the industry as a reliable partner for vehicle and road safety.

"We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Manthey and the 'Grello' and at the same time deepen our involvement in the DTM," explains KÜS Managing Director Peter Schuler. "The ͵Grelloʹ is not only a symbol of top performance on the racetrack, but also of our shared passion for technology and innovation."

The Porsche 911 GT3 R, which has its "nickname" because of its striking colour scheme (green/green and yellow/yellow becomes the Grello), finished second on the podium at the end of the Nürburgring 24-hour race in 2024. With Thomas Preining (Austria), Kévin Estre (France), Ayhancan Güven (Turkey) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) at the wheel, the "Grello" saw the chequered flag after 50 laps.

The race was interrupted due to persistent fog and waved off prematurely after the restart behind the safety car. The race result is also the team's second victory in the second round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

Even at the start of the endurance classic in the Green Hell on Saturday, the 25.378-long combination of Grand Prix circuit and Nordschleife presented difficult track conditions. Increasing rain, a drying track and fog made sure of that. After almost seven and a half hours, the Manthey EMA Porsche (in third place) saw the red flag at 11.22 pm due to dense fog.

The race was only resumed after more than 14 hours on Sunday morning at 1.30 pm behind the safety car. The number 911 took to the track in second place because the team had completed its pit stop immediately before the race was temporarily stopped. As the car received a lower minimum standing time penalty than the team in front, the yellow-green Porsche moved up one position. Due to the still very poor weather conditions, the race was flagged off more than an hour before the "24-hour deadline". As a result, Manthey EMA finished the historically shortest 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in second place.
